The Brewers were looking forward to making a run at the NABA World Series Championship, but ran into a good Oklahoma 89ers team in the first round of the playoffs, losing 7-8 in 9 innings. After pool play was completed, the Brewers claimed the #2 seed and figured they might get a favorable matchup in the first round against the 7th seeded opponent...However, the 89ers proved to be a tough test. Behind good hitting and pitching, the 89ers were able to take a convincing lead of 8-1 through the top of the 8th inning. The Brewers did rally in the bottom of the 8th with 6 runs but came up short in the end.

Update from Phoenix. The Brewers split a doubleheader at the Maryvale Sports Complex (home to the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners) against the Denver Red Sox and Boston Rockies. The two games were complete opposites offensively. The Brewers shelled the Denver team for 17 runs, then layed an egg against the Boston squad, stranding 13 runners and failing to score. The Brewers are now 3-1 in pool play and will play a team from Connecticut at 8:00am. After that, the Brewers expect a playoff game at 3:00pm.
